About Us
I’m Steve, I met Sue in 2003 the day after completing the London Marathon (3hrs 18 mins - since you ask). Life was a bit fraught at first, as Sue was living in Southsea and I, in Halifax. Oh those Friday afternoons trolling on the motorway. 5-7 hours was the rule. The return journey on Sunday was a lot kinder "only" 3/4 hours.
We hit on the interesting solution of buying a caravan and storing it centrally, to cut down on the driving, until finally late in 2005 I was given a transfer to Bristol and Sue moved over too. Six months renting, what we later found was known locally as, the "death house" and we found our ideal house in Portishead overlooking the Channel.
While we’ve used the ‘van extensively we’ve never done a rally. We had booked in to the National at Blenhiem Palace but didn’t attend as I was still a timid tugger back then and the forecast, especially the wind, was too severe.
2012 was the remedy. Eastnor Castle just up the road. mmm Weather!!!!!! or rain. Apparently the experts said 2012 would be a drought. Tell that the the "National" organizers who had to cancel the event as the fields were too waterlogged to allow the trucks on to set up! Huge thanks to Glouces for extending their follow on and giving us our first taste of rallying. And to the Somerset folks for making us so welcome in the next 3!
